About Us
Flourish Furniture Bank is the only non-profit furniture bank in Kansas City and we serve the entire metropolitan area. Flourish partners with nearly 80 social service agencies to provide an entire home of furniture and furnishings for individuals that are becoming housed.
Those we serve have experienced being unhoused for a number of reasons. We serve those that have experienced domestic violence, have aged out of the foster care system, have been a refugee, have experienced job loss or extreme poverty, and many other traumatic experiences on their road to rebuilding their life and seeking stability through housing. We are a major piece of that puzzle by providing approximately $5,000 worth of necessary household items that help them move forward and create a functioning home space where they can create family memories, host friends, and rest.
Your donated goods to Flourish Furniture Bank go directly into a home, sometimes the same day we receive the donation.
Flourish offers many great volunteer opportunities including sorting donations, being a host for the individuals we serve, working in our woodworking department, creating in our sewing department, helping load trucks and receive donations on our dock, packing up donations at estate sales, and much more!
